What are the requirements to be an active searcher?

All members who wish to be active searchers are required to complete a weekend-long Basic Search and Rescue course, and re-certify every year. This training consists of classroom teaching as well as field exercises. In addition, training sessions are held throughout the year, typically on the fourth Tuesday of the month.
